Superintendent Visits Open House And Welcomes Weldon’s Families and Staff
WELDON, NC 10 AUGUST 2022- As the summer break approached its end, students and their families came out to Weldon City Schools (WCS) on Wednesday, August 10th for the annual open house event at each school. Students were able to pickup their class schedules, get their laptops, and meet their new teachers and staff for the 2022-23 school year.
Though summer break is highly anticipated for most students, the new school marks an opportunity to make new friends and to reconnect with friends they might not have seen over the summer break. “The best part of the school year is seeing my friends again,” said Angel Clinton, a WCS sixth grader. “And, science is my favorite thing at school- I like to make stuff,” offered Angel.
“The excitement and anticipation of a new school year is like nothing else,” remarked Dr. Dannie Williams, Superintendent of Weldon City Schools. “I’m pleased with the staff we have and for the expectations we have set for them and our students,” continued Superintendent Williams. “The meet-and-greet of our open house events at the schools gets the year started on a positive note,” he added.
