On September 8, 2022 Weldon City Schools (WCS) released students early from school as a part of a planned day of staff development. After WCS students were dismissed for the day, WCS staff from all four schools in the district convened at Weldon Middle School for a day of staff development.
“We know professional development is essential for our staff,” said Dr. Dannie Williams, Superintendent of Weldon City Schools. “When we invest in and support our staff with these kinds of opportunities, our students will benefit the most from our increased capacity to serve at a higher level,” he added.
All grade levels and subject areas participated in the professional development offered at the middle school. Topics included social and emotional learning, literacy, targeted best practices in curriculum delivery, and effective teaching strategies.
